THERMAL SPRAY COATING

Thermal spray coating is a process used to apply a coating material onto a surface by heating it to a molten or semi-molten state and then spraying it onto the surface. This technique is commonly used to improve the surface properties of materials, such as enhancing wear resistance, corrosion resistance, or thermal protection.

Types of Thermal Spray Processes:

1.Flame Spray:

- Uses a flame as the heat source to melt the coating material.

2.Arc Spray:

- Uses an electric arc between two electrodes to generate heat and melt the coating material.

3.Plasma Spray:

- Uses a plasma (ionized gas) to generate high temperatures for melting the coating material.

4.High Velocity Oxy-Fuel (HVOF):

- Uses a fuel gas combustion to generate high-velocity gas streams that carry molten particles to the surface.
